WHY ARE YOU PAUSING CLASSES?

At the end of April, my lease was up in downtown Renton, and I made the difficult business decision not to renew.

River Valley Cheese is financially healthy, but after the fire and COVID, I decided that letting go felt like a progressive move that would enable me to pursue new projects.

The most challenging part of this decision was leaving Renton. I will always be grateful for the divine providence that guided me through the doors of the Renton Chamber of Commerce and into the arms of downtown. In addition, this classroom brought me together with incredible, powerful entrepreneurial women who supported me, collaborated with me, and utilized the commercial kitchen. Man, COVID really sucked. And, I never have felt so much love from a community as I did through COVID.

To all the people who have supported River Valley Cheese and me after the fire and throughout COVID (I’m talkin’ to you!), you have left an indelible mark of love on my heart. In fact, you have caused my heart to grow bigger and see the possibility of what we can create together.

I may have left this kitchen behind, but the memories of laughter, collaboration, tears, and love will always remain.

ARE YOU CLOSING?

NO! Not at all! I’m merely pausing to take stock of the following moves since my lease expired.

I HAVE A CREDIT FROM THE FIRE and/or COVID, VOUCHER, OR GIFT CARD.  ARE THESE STILL GOOD?

WHERE WILL YOUR CLASSES BE HELD IN THE FUTURE?

Great question!  I have a team working on solutions and will update y’all as soon as I have clarity (or you lend me your crystal ball!)

WHAT IF I AM JONESING FOR A CHEESECAKE?

Well, friends, my cheesecake-making days are temporarily suspended until I get a new commercial kitchen. If you email me, I’ll send you the recipe!

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN AND WHERE YOU’RE SCHEDULING CLASSES?

WHAT IS KRISTI DOING?

I’m loving the cheese-life. Getting back to teaching after COVID reaffirmed how much I love connecting with people through curiosity, creativity, history, and fun. The smaller classes (down to 8 from 24) were super fun and a great stretch to my teaching abilities. …and I am working on a new project, so please stay tuned for more details!
